Day 40 - Trades' Hall

I have driven past this building a fair bit over the years. Even photographed it a couple of times.
I've always wondered what it was like inside.
Who owned it?
What went on in here?
(Did anything go in in here?).

Then I thought maybe - from the boarded-up windows and state of disrepair - that is was condemned.

But this morning I found out the answers to all of those questions.

And this wasn't the photo I was after for today's post.

I really wanted to photograph the broken, dusty, old piano, next to a stack of chairs, a framed photo of a much-younger Bob Hawke on top, with a vase of fake flowers that sat beside a vintage "No Glasses on the Piano" sign, and another faded photo, of Bill Hayden.

It was like no one had touched it for thirty years. Amusing and bemusing (if that makes sense), and kind of fitting.
It would have been a great photo. Maybe next time.
