Day 58 - Barking Dogs and Crickets
Barking dogs and crickets
The rumble of a train
A dickhead in a Holden ute
Bags it up three streets away
The streetlights cast a shadow
On the tin and fibro walls
The sun's been gone for hours
Still a haywire cocky calls
Through the night
The sounds continue
The endless droning from the mine
Watched over by the moon
And the stars, there is a sign
Of a teapot constellation
As it penetrates the dark
Of an unremarkable existence
A reality that is stark

Day 41 - Locked Out
My neighbour, Lisa, borrowing my phone to try and track down her partner/keys - after the door blew shut on her and locked her out - to no avail.
It all turned out OK though. A brawler van just happened to turn up next door to Lisa's (I know right?! In Leafy Lamington!), and some friendly coppers helped her break in, and the rice cooker didn't overheat and burn the house down.
